Dr. Marta Viola is a licensed acupuncturist with a Master’s Degree (MTCM) and Doctoral Degree (DAOM) in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences (ACCHS) in Oakland, California.
She is originally from Brazil, where she majored in Letters and Sciences and completed her master’s degree in Applied Linguistics with a focus in Portuguese and English. Along with her linguistics studies she had training in meditation, Tai Chi and massage. In the USA she graduated from the 850-hr. massage program at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley while also training as a doula. In 2007 she became a Diplomate in Asian Bodywork Therapy through the National Commission for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Later, she further expanded her training in wellness and healing, studying acupuncture and herbalism in her MTCM and deepening her understanding of Chinese Medicine studying Classical Chinese Medicine and Orthopedics in her DAOM. Nowadays she lives and works in the San Francisco Bay area, where she applies different healing modalities to better tailor treatments to the well-being of patients. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, swimming, and dancing, but most of all I enjoy the company of her five children. |
